Carmel joins Men’s Aid with over twenty years’ experience supporting people in the community across Waterford and the South East.
Carmel is a Qualified Social Care Worker – with a B.A. (Hons) in Applied Social Studies from Waterford IT, a B.A. in Social Care – Carlow Institute of Technology (Wexford Campus) and an M.A. in Child, Youth & Family Studies – Carlow Institute of Technology.
Her experience to date includes McGwire House and Oasis House Women’s Refuge in Waterford, as well as over 20 years working with Bank of Ireland also in Waterford. Carmel has helped people coping with different and difficult challenges in their lives. Her roles to date gave her frontline practical and valuable insight as to how best support vulnerable people.
Carmel will be collaborating with external agencies such as Social Workers, Tusla, Community Mental Health Nursing, Courts Services, local charities, G.P, Ambulance Services, Gardai, Addiction Services, Homeless services, Counselling services available across Waterford and the South East area of Ireland. Carmel will also be available to colleges and universities for workshops across the South East.
