Amazing Fundraising
Home 9 News 9 Amazing Fundraising

Thank you to all the fundraisers who generously donated their time over the past few weeks to increase awareness and support for male victims of domestic violence and their families. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank businesses and our local AIB bank for their corporate support.

Our priority is the victim and, of course, the children that so often get caught up in domestic abuse situations. During Covid-19, we are experiencing an increase in men and their families, their mums and sisters, contacting us for information and support. We are committed to helping each person who contacts us. However, we are in need of increased resources in order to ensure our services meet the demand. Like all charities, we rely heavily on donations and the Covid-19 situation has meant that most planned fundraising events have been cancelled.

Bula Buzz

Bula Buzz – Colm Phelan and Robbie Walsh – ran an online bodhran workshop during the months of April and May where people were asked to donate to a charity of their choice….. They raised a fabulous €1152 for Men’s Aid Ireland. (Facebook post)

Couch Eile

Drew Maitland and David Keogan arranged a pop-up live streaming event – Couch Eile – on 23 May in aid of Men’s Aid Ireland, Medecins Sans Frontieres – Doctors without Borders – and Safe Ireland. Artists such as Charlie McGettigan, First Day Lions, Gillian Tuite, Dubh Lee as well as a host of other talented artists took part in the live stream concert. The Go Fund me page is open until 1 June so there is still time to donate if you missed it. https://www.gofundme.com/f/couch-eile

Other Voices – Glen Hansard

We were also very excited to get a shout-out from Glen Hansard during his performance on ‘Other Voices’ last week. Thank you Glen for your support and bringing us to the attention of such a large national audience. (RTE article)
